Robert Vorstman, born in Amsterdam in 1975, is a self-taught painter deeply rooted in the tradition of figurative painting. He lives and works in Amsterdam, where he uses his immediate surroundings as his main source of inspiration. His work is characterized by capturing everyday scenes, revealing the hidden beauty in ordinary life.
Vorstman paints mainly from nature and looks for surprising perspectives in everyday scenes. His subjects range from cityscapes and interiors to seascapes and portraits. He has a special interest in the dynamics of city life, which is clearly reflected in his paintings of Amsterdam and New York.
His painting style is characterized by a loose, expressive brushwork and a lively use of color. He works mainly with oil paint on canvas, capturing the texture and light of his subjects in an intuitive way. His work exudes a sense of spontaneity and directness, which contributes to the authenticity of his images.
Over the years, Vorstman has exhibited his work in various galleries and art fairs. His paintings have been on display at Galerie Mokum in Amsterdam and Galerie de Vis in Harlingen. In 2021, he presented his project "Panorama Dishoek" during BIG ART at the Hembrugterrein in Zaandam.
