Suzan Drummen (born 1963 in Heerlen, the Netherlands) is a renowned Dutch visual artist internationally recognized for her spectacular kaleidoscopic installations composed of thousands of loose crystals, mirrors, optical glass, and reflective materials. Living and working in Amsterdam, she has developed a distinctive artistic language that transforms architectural spaces into immersive environments of light, color, and reflection.
Drummen's work is characterized by intricate, large-scale floor and wall installations that create the illusion of endless depth and movement. Inspired by patterns found in nature, sacred geometry, and the interplay between order and chaos, her compositions invite viewers to experience space in a completely new way. Although often monumental in scale, her installations are carefully constructed by hand, reflecting an extraordinary level of precision and craftsmanship.
In addition to her celebrated installation work, Drummen's multidisciplinary practice encompasses photography, painting, film, and public art projects. Her artworks explore themes of perception, transformation, beauty, and the relationship between the individual and the surrounding environment. Through the use of reflective materials and changing light conditions, her pieces continuously evolve as viewers move through the space.
Over the course of her career, Suzan Drummen has exhibited extensively in museums, galleries, and public spaces across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and North America. Her visually striking and immersive works have earned her a prominent position within contemporary international art, making her one of the Netherlands' most distinctive and innovative visual artists.
