- About the artist
After completion of several studies at SBB in Gouda (2007-2012), the artist developed an own specific style in creating sculptures from clay rolls in a unique way.
The artist’s work consists of abstract and geometric forms. These are made by hand in a monthly-long process. The rolls of clay are built up in such a way that they form a geometric interplay. In this process, the artist is challenged how far she technically can go with the clay. All art objects are unique.
Her works look light, soft and airy as openwork lace: it is a unique technique that she have made my own. The works are finished with porcelain sludge. This is done in such a way as to create a rough finish that enhances the shapes.
The sculptures are mainly calm colors such as black, white and terracotta. Colors that she develops herself, so that she can determine the look of her works from start to finish.
In 2015 she was awarded and became overall winner of the National Art Days in Ahoy, Rotterdam. Her work is published in various magazines such as ‘’Klei’’, ‘’Bewustzijnskunstenaars, volume II’’ and ‘’New Ceramics/Neue Keramik’’.
She participated in national and international artfairs and exhibitions, including the Biennale in Haacht, Belgium, Ceramics Center Tiendschuur in Tegelen, the Netherlands in 2023, Ceramics Museum Westerwald in Germany (2024) and International Ceramic Days Oldenburg, Germany (2024/2025).
