Ruudt Wackers was born in Echt, the Netherlands. He studied art at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he specialized in painting.

His foundation lies in classical artistic principles and traditional techniques, which he combines with a modern and authentic approach.

In 1983 he founded the Wackers Academy, his own art academy that still flourishes today. From the early 1990s, Ruudt lived and worked in the South of France. Initially he stayed in the Lot and later at Château de Bru in Perville, located in the Tarn-et-Garonne. Since 2018 Ruudt Wackers lives in Italy.

His work has been exhibited in various countries, including France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, the United States and Germany. Many of his paintings, drawings, pastels and sculptures are part of both private and public collections.
