About the artist
I am Gloria van Ewijk, 46 years old, and I have been active as a sculptor since 2011. Sculpting offers me the opportunity to create and be completely in the moment. The process of sculpting is always challenging, and that is what makes it so special to me. In addition to my passion for sculpting, I am also a social entrepreneur.
When designing my images, I mainly rely on my intuition. I stay close to the original shape of the stone and look for the way in which the stone comes to life.
Images enrich a space with extra strength and character. Their presence illuminates the environment and encourages continuous looking and feeling, giving the space more personality.
For me it is an inspiring challenge to evoke emotions with my images. Each image carries a message, giving them the ability to create a specific emotion.
The creation process has highs and lows, making the soul of the image clearly visible. My images are created through dedication, determination and inner strength.
