  • About the artist

Born in 1966 in Sichuan, China, belongs to a generation of artists who were shaped by a period of profound social and cultural transformations. He studied at the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts, where he specialized in graphic techniques. In 1987 he graduated from the Printmaking Department, a discipline that would have a lasting influence on his later paintings. He currently lives and works in Chongqing.

His work is characterized by a unique combination of woodcut techniques and visual elements from the world of advertising. This hybrid style results in powerful compositions in which tradition and contemporary visual culture come together. The sharp contours, bold color contrasts and layered structures in his paintings refer both to the precision of graphic reproduction and to the direct, impactful aesthetics of mass communication.

The impact of his work did not go unnoticed. In 2007 he was invited to participate in the exhibition CHINA NOW at the Cobra Museum of Modern Art in Amstelveen. His art fits within the broader context of the Chinese contemporary art scene, in which traditional techniques are constantly reinvented and integrated into a modern visual discourse.

With a body of work that balances between precision craftsmanship and modern expression, [Artist Name] remains a distinctive voice in the contemporary art world. His work offers a window into the dynamics of Chinese visual culture—a dialogue between heritage and innovation.
