Jules Wittock (Brussels, Belgium) is a contemporary artist whose work emerges from an ongoing dialogue between his childhood artistic heritage and experimentation. Raised in a family of artists, he learned from a young age that creating is not an activity, but a way of thinking and being. His studio became not a place of seclusion, but a landscape of dialogue: with materials, with forms, with silence.

Wittock's practice operates at the intersection of painting, sculpture, and installation. He is fascinated by layering—both physically, in the accumulation of color and texture, and conceptually, in the ways in which memory, family history, and personal imagination overlap. His work invites us to slow down: the viewer is urged to observe attentively, to repeat, to see again.

Although his formal language often appears subtle and minimalist, a sensitive investigation lies behind each work. Wittock studies how materials behave when they are not forced, but followed; how lines form when the hand listens instead of dictating. This results in work that appears both precise and organic—controlled, but never rigid.

Jules Wittock lives and works in Brussels, where his studio serves as a laboratory for patience, tactility, and reflection. His oeuvre develops like an open narrative: always in motion, always in conversation, always on the way to a new form that didn't quite exist yet.
