Sketch of a lake, viewed from the shore. From the left a headland comes in, with a small boat at its end. The last 30 years of his life, Cornelis Vreedenburgh lived in Laren, a village in proximity to several lakes. Waterways in general are a recurring theme for Vreedenburgh, as can be seen in this sketch. This sketch possibly depict the no longer exiting Wilnisse plassen.

- About the artist

Throughout his career, Cornelis Vreedenburgh gained recognition and acclaim for his masterful craftsmanship and dedication to depicting the essence of Dutch life and culture. His work resonated with both art collectors and the broader public, making him a beloved figure in Dutch art history.
