  • About the artist

Born in France in 1962, Laurent Parcelier is an artist whose work captures the warmth of sun-drenched landscapes and the magic of the everyday. His paintings, bathed in light and shadow, radiate an almost dreamlike serenity and invite the viewer to get lost in a world of harmony and tranquility.

From a young age, Parcelier was fascinated by art. He followed his passion by enrolling at the École des Arts Appliqués in the Dordogne, where he further developed his talent. He initially channeled his creative energy into comic strips, which resulted in the publication of several albums under the title Le Drôle de Monde (The Strange World). With these works, he demonstrated his ability to tell stories, but his artistic path would soon take a different turn.

A turning point in his career came in an unexpected way: a street painting competition, where he took his first steps in painting with only borrowed materials—a canvas, paints, and brushes. This spontaneous moment opened up a new world for Parcelier. While his comic strips contained dynamism and narrative, he found in painting a way to fully express his love of light, color, and composition.

Parcelier’s style evolved into a unique fusion of impressionism and an almost mosaic-like technique, in which he breaks light into small fragments to create a radiant, almost magical effect. His landscapes and cityscapes, often bathed in the glow of the late afternoon sun, convey a sense of nostalgia and timelessness.

Over the years, his work has become increasingly popular, both in France and abroad. His paintings are exhibited in renowned galleries and collected by art lovers who are carried away by his ability to capture the beauty of the moment.

Laurent Parcelier remains a master of light—a painter who, like the Impressionists before him, knows how to capture the fleeting splendor of a sun-drenched afternoon on canvas, reminding us of the wonder of the world around us.
