  Bijzonder werk van Jan Roëde uit het jaar waarin hij zijn naam veranderde door een trema op de e te zetten. Hij deed dat omdat hij in Zweden en Frankrijk succesvolle tentoonstellingen had en de Fransen zijn naam moeilijk konden uitspreken. Ook experimenteerde hij in die jaren met zijn stijl. Dit is een van de eerste werken in de later zo typerende stijl, met eenvoudige figuren en kleurvlakken. In die werken verbeeldde hij vaak kinderen en huiselijke taferelen.

  Jan Roëde, born as Jan Roede on June 13, 1914 in Groningen, was a large Dutch art artist who acted as signs, glass art, illustrator, designer and costume designer. Hij schreef also behaves in poems, what zijn brede artisticieke interest and talents benadrukt.
