- About the artist
Coderch & Malavia is the artist duo of Joan Coderch (born 1959) and Javier Malavia (born 1970). Together, they are internationally renowned for their figurative bronze sculptures, in which the human figure plays a central and narrative role.
Their work is characterized by a high degree of anatomical precision, dynamism, and emotional expression. In their sculptures, Coderch & Malavia combine classical sculptural traditions with a contemporary sensibility, giving their sculptures a sense of both timelessness and modernity.
The bronze figures often depict movement, inner tension, and human relationships. Through subtle poses and refined details, they capture emotions and stories in form and material. Coderch & Malavia's work is exhibited worldwide and is beloved by collectors of contemporary figurative sculpture.
