Wim Schumacher (Amsterdam, May 5, 1894 – Amsterdam, August 31, 1986) was an influential Dutch painter and graphic artist, known for his unique contribution to modern art in the Netherlands. His oeuvre is characterized by a powerful interplay of light and dark, strong contrasts, and a mystical, almost metaphysical atmosphere.
