  • Over kunstenaar
Fioen Blaisse (1932, Amsterdam – 2012, Amsterdam), full name Fioen Hetty Cornelia Blaisse-Kramer, was a Dutch sculptor, painter, draughtsman and medallist. From 1958 to 1961 she studied under the sculptor Ben Guntenaar at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. In 1970 she travelled to Tunisia, where she was inspired by dancing girls and women. Since then these dancers were a recurring theme in her work. In 1982, she created a sculpture, De Voortschrijdende Danseres (The Striding Dancing Woman), for the Maliebaan in Utrecht. She also made abstractions, animals, portraits, figures and nudes. In 1982, she was awarded the Singer Prize for her entire oeuvre.
