Pieter Pander (Drachten, May 22, 1962) is a Dutch painter and draftsman.
Pieter Pander was educated at the Vredeman de Vries Academy in Leeuwarden (1981-1982) and the Minerva Academy in the city of Groningen. At Minerva he was taught by, among others, Matthijs Röling and Jouke Wouda.
Pander makes figurative paintings with a loose touch. He is primarily a portrait painter, who makes portraits of animals and people, including Cardinal Simonis (2008), Matthijs Röling (2010) and King Willem-Alexander (2016) and a number of self-portraits. Pander is considered one of the Northern realists.
He exhibits regularly, including solo exhibitions at 't Coopmanshûs in Franeker (1992), the Drents Museum (2008) in Assen and at the Pier Pander Museum (2015) in Leeuwarden.
In 1997 he received the Hielke de Vries Prize, awarded by Galerie Wiek XX, the jury was "struck by Pander's contemporary processing of figuration and his spirit of experimentation".
