Huib Rademakers (born 1951) is a Dutch artist who primarily focuses on figurative painting with a rich attention to color, texture, and layering.

Rademakers addresses diverse themes: ruins and historical buildings (in Egypt and Italy, among other places), landscapes, seals, and occasionally more subdued still lifes. He travels extensively and draws inspiration from places like Italy, Mali, and Albania, giving his work an international character. He experiments with various materials and techniques: oil paint in multiple layers, the use of palette knives and canvas, and also the scraping of paint with sharp knives to enhance texture and contrast.

His compositions are characterized by visible brushwork, rough layers of paint alternating with finer details, and an attention to the effect of light on surfaces. The emphasis is often on the tension between the ground (color plane) and the construction of forms above. His work balances between precision and spontaneity, between control and chance.

Rademakers has exhibited at numerous venues, including Museum Møhlmann in Appingedam and in galleries across the Netherlands. In 2025, he will again present work under the title "Per vedere la differenza" (To See the Difference), which will offer a journey through decades of his painting.

His work invites the eye to see the difference: between structure and suggestion, between material and idea, between memory and imagination. In each canvas, he reveals a world that is simultaneously familiar and layered—a silent ceremony of color, form, and matter.
