Charles Sorlier was a french printmaker. During World War II he was deported to Pomerania. After World War II ended Sorlier started at the atelier of Fernand Mourlot in 1948, where he stayed for more than forty years. He assisted many famous artist, for example Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse and Fernand Léger.
His most significant working relationship was with Marc Chagall, they became good friends and worked closely together. The production of Charles Sorlier after Marc Chagall are of a very high quality.
