Maïté was born in 1944 in Renazé, France. She studied Literature at the University of Rouen and has lived and worked in the Netherlands since 1968. Maïté died on 2 November 2019.
Maïté Duval's sculptures and drawings are alternately tender, intimate and powerful. With simple means and full of deep attention, she manages to rise above figuration.
