About the artist
Hazel Ling was born in Amsterdam, shortly after her parents emigrated from China. Although she grew up in the Netherlands, the Chinese cultural influence was great. Her cultural duality has shaped who she is today. The serenity, harmony and imaginary of Chinese art, coupled with her awareness of Western art, have left an impression on her photographic style. Her first international recognition came in 2015 when she participated in the most prestigious exhibition festival (Contact Photography Festival) in Toronto. After this breakthrough, she continues to present her work both in the Netherlands and internationally. She has also exhibited in museums such as the Hilversum Museum and the Van Abbemuseum.
