Henk is a man of few words, but when it comes to his work, that will change!
Henk Boon has an enormous passion for his work. Graduated from 'The Royal Academy of Art' in The Hague, he first made his mark in the advertising world. He makes hyper-realistic work for this purpose. Now as an artist you can still see how carefully he looks at the objects he paints. His painting style is best described as graphically realistic. Realism is still a starting point, but Henk chooses not to show everything. This creates very clear, fresh paintings. The large surface is no problem for this artist. Posing in front of one of the paintings we are showing, the grandeur of the work is palpable.
The artist himself says the following about his passion:
But my passion for painting is not contained in words.
“It is a veneration for an object. Clears your mind. Get your life on edge.
Even determines your career”.
We saw at an art fair in Rotterdam that his passion for painting does not end with his own work. A chance meeting. Boon stood with his nose against a painting by a colleague, studying it, looking for how the work had been created. The conversation we had next was about the ideas, the changes that Henk plans to implement in his work. We are curious, we have confidence in him anyway and will certainly continue to exhibit and offer his beautiful work!
