About the artist

Rosa Serra belongs to the generation that caused a rift in the sculpture of Olotina, Spain. Her fascination for the three-dimensional figure led her to Lluís Curós, her first teacher. In 1970 she entered the Lluís Carbonell Academy, where she studied drawing and painting, and two years later she entered the School of Fine Arts in Olot, where she studied drawing, ceramics and engraving for three years. She held her first solo exhibition in 1972 in Barcelona. From 1973 she devoted herself to sculpture. In 1976 she received the sculpture prize at the III Bilbao Biennale.
