Louis Boermeester (Amsterdam, 1908 – Ede, 1992) was a Dutch artist, painter and draughtsman, who left behind a modest but consistent oeuvre, characterized by a classical approach to form and a strong connection with the Dutch landscape and cityscape. His work moves between realism and impressionism, with an emphasis on harmony, structure and natural light effects.

Boermeester was trained at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, where he mastered the traditional techniques of drawing and painting. His subjects were varied but recognizable: cityscapes, farms, forest edges, interiors and figures in calm poses. He had an eye for composition and atmosphere, and often managed to capture a certain timelessness in his work.

He spent a significant part of his life in Ede, where the Veluwe landscape continued to inspire him. His paintings do not show dramatic scenes, but rather the beauty of the everyday — a row of pollard willows, an autumn forest, a quiet street.
