Dirk van der Goorbergh was a very skilled craftsman, whose work could compete with that of The Hague silversmiths at that time, by whom he was definitely influenced. However, he often added a personal touch to the rocailles, which were fashionable in The Hague. A tea kettle on stand, made by Dirk van der Goorbergh in 1774, was present at the exhibition Rococo in Nederland, in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam in 2001.

Dirk van der Goorbergh era un abile artigiano del XVIII secolo, il cui lavoro poteva competere con quello degli argentieri dell'Aia dell'epoca, dai quali fu sicuramente influenzato. Tuttavia, aggiungeva spesso un tocco personale alle rocailles che andavano di moda all'Aia. Un bollitore da tè su supporto, realizzato da Dirk van der Goorbergh nel 1774, era presente alla mostra "Rococo in Nederland", al Rijksmuseum di Amsterdam nel 2001.
