    In this rare foto by Paul Haviland we see Helene Camus in the Limoges region around 1918. The garden is that of the Haviland family house. The young girl looks at us half hidden by the trees. Its gives the atmosphere a romantic touch.

    Paul Burty Haviland (17 giugno 1880 – 21 dicembre 1950) è stato un fotografo, scrittore e critico d'arte franco-americano del XX secolo, strettamente associato ad Alfred Stieglitz e alla Photo-Secession. Fu nel 1908, dopo aver incontrato il leader del movimento pittorialista americano Photo-Secession, Alfred Stieglitz (1864-1946), che Paul Haviland divenne un appassionato fotografo. I suoi primi lavori riflettono questa influenza: figure indistinte, dai contorni nebulosi, che emergono dalla semioscurità, segnate dal giappone e dall'estetica di Whistler.
