  • A proposito di opere d'arte
This magnificent vase was manufactured by Amphora from Turn-Teplice which at that time belonged to the Austrian Empire. Amphora is known for the production of high quality decorative porcelain objects in Art Nouveau style and was founded by Riessner, Stellmacher & Kessel in the year 1892.

The vase is made in ivory porcelain and shaped in a typical symbolist Art Nouveau representation. The vase stands on a widened base and has an embossed decoration of sirens, flowers and tadpoles swimming up from the depths in the water to the sirens that are at the surface. The symbolism behind this representation is centered on fertility, transformation and happiness.

The underwater representation is rendered with a slightly iridescent glaze. Whereas the overwater representation is rendered in a green paint with accents in gold paint.

The base has a stamp of “Amphora”.

Condition: Excellent condition, production crack at the base

È stata fondata dai sigg. van Sillevoldt e Perelaer.
