  • About the artwork
Kouji Hosoi: A Dialogue Between Tradition and Modernity
Japanese artist Kouji Hosoi (59) creates impressive homages to nature from his studio in Tokyo, deeply rooted in the tradition of classical Japanese painting. He uses washi paper made in Kyoto, and as a completely self-taught artist, he has mastered the "art of omission," focusing on the pure, sleek forms of his subjects.

His work pays tribute to various species, including the salamander, where the Andrias japonicus and the Salamandra infraimmaculata semenovi are captured with almost architectural precision. This deep affection for flora and fauna translates into serene compositions that bridge the gap between ancient craftsmanship and modern aesthetics. These exclusive artworks form a powerful dialogue within high-end interiors where quality and character are paramount.
