Johannes D’ Hoy, Middelburg, 1769
322 grams; 16,1cm high - About the artistJohannes D’ Hoy can be associated with the Middelburg silversmiths’ guild of the Netherlands. D'Hoy was reportedly admitted to the guild in 1766, after he had been trained by silversmith Christiaan Rijkert. He was known to manufacture both lithurgical and secular silver objects. Objects of his hand may include baskets, cutlery sets, casters and caskets. He was active in the 18th century.
