Ria Koreman (born 1968) is a Dutch painter, born in Leiden. As a painter, she works with a strong focus on craft and on what an image can evoke: atmosphere, memory, tranquility, or even tension. In her studio, she explores how composition, color, and light interact to suggest a narrative—without having to literally fill everything in.

Koreman's working method is characterized by the careful construction of layers and the constant search for the right balance in the painting. She is guided by what she sees, but also by intuition: a painting emerges gradually, in dialogue with the canvas. In this way, she develops a unique, recognizable signature in which craftsmanship and personal interpretation converge.
