About the artist
Pieter Lodewijk Francisco Kluyver was a Dutch artist born in Amsterdam in 1816. He started his career in Amsterdam, but he moved to Amersfoort in 1848. Kluyver is known for his summer, winter and forest landscapes and his city views. He has an eye for detail and his palette is very naturalistic. He was a pupil of Georges Andries Roth. In 1883 he moved back to Amsterdam and stayed her until he died in 1900.
