Janneke Tangelder studied drawing – painting at the Royal Academy of Art The Hague and the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam from 1967 to 1974. She received the Willem Uriot Prize for young artists for her work and was the winner of the Prix de Rome free painting.
