Frederick Serger, born Fryderyk Serger in 1889 in Łódź, Poland, was an artist whose work was shaped by the cultural richness of Europe and the transatlantic influences of the United States. As a painter, he developed a style that combined Impressionist and Post-Impressionist elements with a subtle sensitivity to color and composition.

Serger grew up in a wealthy Jewish family and received his art education in Vienna and Munich, where he immersed himself in the European art movements of the interwar period.
