- About the artworkDit zijn de peeren die vrysters begeeren kopergravure vervaardigd door Gerrit van Schagen ca. 1680. Later met de hand gekleurd. Afm. 27 x 24. Deze volksprent (ter leering ende vermaeck) toont een perenboom met in de kruin een groep jongelingen die musiceren, schrijven, lezen en kaart bestuderen. Van onder de boom kijken jonge dames begerig naar de heren zoals blijkt uit de vers onder de afbeelding: Vrysters, schoon je schijnt te veynsen dat geen vryer u en dient, Hier nochtans streckt al u peynsen Hier is uwes herten vriendt Hiertoe streckt al uw begeeren; En hy mist die 't niet gelooft: Want al die den man ontbeeren, Dat zyn lyven zonder Hooft. Van deze prent zijn behalve dit exemplaar nog slechts twee andere bekend, waarvan een in het Nationaal Openlucht Museum. Prijs: Euro1.150,- (BTW margeregeling, incl. lijst)
