  • About the artist

Frascarolo e C. was an Italian jewelry house founded in 1948 in Milan by Rino Frascarolo, together with Aldo Lenti and Daniele Valiera. Built on exceptional goldsmith craftsmanship, the company quickly gained recognition for refined brooches, rings, and platinum jewelry, combining technical excellence with expressive design.

From the late 1950s onward, Frascarolo e C. expanded internationally, particularly in the United States. Its defining achievement came in the 1960s with the celebrated “Bestiario” (Ferocious Bestiary) collection—animal-shaped jewels ranging from tender to dramatic forms, crafted in gold, enamel, and precious stones. The collection became a major commercial and artistic success and established the house as a cult name in post-war Italian jewelry design.

Despite its international acclaim and innovation—including early platinum casting techniques—the company gradually declined in the early 1970s. It continued in reduced form until the death of Rino Frascarolo in 1976, marking the end of one of Italy’s most distinctive mid-century jewelry maisons.
