About the artist
Carlo Previtali was born in Bergamo, Italy; he attended the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and later graduated with a degree in Architecture from the Politecnico in Milan. He has taught at many schools in the Bergamo area, including the School of Applied Arts ‘Andrea Fantoni’ and at the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts.
His ceramic faces stand frozen in the mists of time, his characters appear to come from places both real and imagined. They stand firm yet hold a fragility with an array of expressions and emotions enveloped in colourful and exquisitely textured ceramics.
