Kunsthandel Pygmalion was founded by art historian Jaap Versteegh and his partner Joke van Veen. The gallery specializes in paintings, watercolours and drawings by 19th and 20th century Dutch masters, with a particular emphasis on a group of painters known as the "Tachtigers" as well as Dutch Impressionism. Famous 20th century artists include Raoul Hynckes, Jan Sluijters, Toon Kelder and Perdok. The sculpture collection consists of Dutch sculptors from the mid-20th century, most of them are former students of Professor Bronner.
