Art dealer Studio 2000 is pleased to invite you to the Jan Sluijters sales exhibition, which runs until June 10, 2026.

Jan Sluijters’ work is considered of great importance to Dutch art history. He played a pioneering role in the young avant-garde, which also included artists such as Piet Mondrian and Leo Gestel.

From his time at the academy until shortly after the First World War, Sluijters experimented frequently and adopted styles such as Luminism, Fauvism, Cubism, and Expressionism. Subsequently, he gained renown as a painter of portraits, nudes, floral still lifes, and domestic scenes in a moderately expressionist style.

We strive for a presentation of exceptional quality: paintings and works on paper with a distinctive or pronounced theme, key works within the artist’s oeuvre, and exclusively works that are new to the art market. Studio 2000 Art Gallery is one of the leading galleries in the field of Dutch and Belgian art from around 1900. Since its founding by Howard Myers in 1985, the gallery has built a prominent position within this specialization. In 2001, the gallery moved to picturesque Blaricum, where the family business has continued with great dedication ever since.

Over the years, Studio 2000 has organized major exhibitions, including those featuring Jan Toorop, Leo Gestel, and Isaac Israels, always accompanied by publications. The gallery maintains close relationships with museums and art institutions and has sold important works to the Rijksmuseum, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Dordrechts Museum, and the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, among others.

We look forward to welcoming you to experience this special selection up close.

Opening hours: Wednesday through Saturday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM until June 10, 2026

We are open by appointment on Ascension Day.
