- A proposito di opere artistaLucien Frank (1857-1920) è stato un pittore belga nato a Bruxelles e formatosi in Francia. Sebbene non avesse ricevuto un'educazione artistica accademica, Lucien fu probabilmente istruito dal pittore francese Charles-François Daubigny. Si dice che abbia conosciuto Edouard Manet personalmente. Frank preferiva lavorare "en plein air" ed è stato attratto da un piccolo villaggio in Belgio chiamato "Ohian", dove ha lavorato per diversi anni. Poco dopo, Frank si interessò alle coste olandesi e belghe. Più tardi nella sua carriera, Lucien dipinse le sue opere più note, con vivaci paesaggi urbani e figure sui mercati nel suo stile fresco.
