Depuis 2002, elle est orfèvre-créatrice indépendante de bijoux d'art. Eekels est le propriétaire de l'Atelier Bockweg en Eekels, basé à Vlijmen, Noord Brabant. Ses bagues ont été récompensées «bijoux de l'année» à plusieurs reprises.
