    Nicolaas (Nic) Jonk was a Dutch sculptor, graphic artist, painter and academy lecturer. He is mostly known for his sculptures of mythological scenes, women and animals, which are to be found throughout public space in the Netherlands and also in Belgium, Germany, Italy and the United States. From 1953 to 1956 he went to the State Academy of Fine Arts. After that he continued self-taught. He was a teacher at the Art Academy in Den Bosch. Also, he established Ateliers ’63, an independent art school, together with Wessel Couzijn and Mari Andriessen.
