Stelio Scamanga

Stelio Scamanga is a Greek contemporary painter who has lived in France since 1976. Between 1952 and 1976 he has lived in Lebanon for twenty-four years. He graduated from the American University of Beirut as an architect in 1960. He owned an art consultancy firm in Geneva (Switzerland) until 1995. Scamanga had his first solo exhibition in 1960. Thereafter, his paintings were shown in galleries in Lebanon, Europe and New York. In 1964 he wrote a manifest about abstract art called, Towards a new Space, the Perspective of the Abstract. His paintings are rendered in an abstract style with vibrant colours.
