Herman Tulp

Herman Tulp (1955, Groningen) attended painting classes at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. He paints in a realistic manner, focusing on two genres: intimate still life and magic-realistic landscapes. His still life paintings radiate nostalgia, often including objects from the time of his Grandmother painted against time-weathered wood. In his magic-realistic paintings, trains or houses are painted as solitary monuments in whimsical landscapes. Tulp has exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the KunstRai in Amsterdam, HAF in Utrecht and The Hague.
