  Art by Son est le nom de scène de Cani (prononcé Sonny). Cani est né le 16 mai 1986 à Mitrovica, au Kosovo. Alors qu'il était petit garçon, Cani a fui vers les Pays-Bas en 1992 avec sa famille. Cani a toujours aimé dessiner, mais ce n’est qu’à l’âge de vingt-cinq ans qu’il a vraiment commencé à en faire quelque chose. Il dessine des portraits et conçoit des tatouages. Il développe rapidement un style très personnel que l'on retrouve désormais clairement dans les peintures Art by Son.

  Cani s'inspire d'une peinture Art by Son et d'une sculpture Art by Son de la culture populaire. Par exemple, les peintures Art by Son se reconnaissent à leur style de dessin caractéristique.
