  Nico Vrielink (1958, Reusel) a suivi une formation d'enseignant dans une académie d'art en Belgique. Cependant, l'enseignement s'est avéré ne pas être sa vocation et depuis 1984, il travaille seul en tant qu'artiste.

  En 1985, lors d'un de ses nombreux voyages, Vrielink rencontre sa femme Jeane à Singapour. C'est le coup de foudre, et Jeane est depuis lors la plus grande source d'inspiration de Vrielink. Elle peut à juste titre être appelée sa muse. Vrielink a réalisé plus de 4000 œuvres d'art avec elle comme sujet. Non seulement le modèle est resté le même au fil des ans, les peintures aussi. Majoritairement (à moitié) nue, orientale, réaliste, idyllique, reconnaissable et exotique.

  Son point de départ est de dépeindre le visage de sa femme comme la perfection. Le reste de la carrosserie, le décor et la finition générale s'y adaptent en permanence, du foncé au clair. En raison de la discrétion que Vrielink place dans son travail, une distance naturelle demeure entre le modèle et le spectateur.

  Vrielink et Jeane ont vécu dans de nombreux endroits différents au fil des ans, des Pays-Bas à la France et à Bali. Tous ces lieux ont leur influence sur son travail. Le travail de Vrielink a été admiré et acclamé dans le monde entier, comme en témoignent les nombreuses expositions dans les lieux les plus exotiques.
