Charlot Terhaar sive Droste (1976) est diplômée de la Royal Academy of Art de La Haye en 2002.
En 2003, elle a eu l'opportunité d'exposer son travail de manière permanente dans une galerie à Breukelen. Aujourd'hui, son travail peut être vu dans son atelier à Portengen près de Kockengen.
Depuis 2006, Charlot a participé à plusieurs expositions et foires d'art nationales et internationales. Son travail fait partie de diverses collections privées et corporatives, notamment Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht à Amsterdam. Lors de la Foire internationale d'art (IAF) de Rotterdam, elle a reçu le « Prix du meilleur artiste ».
En 2023, Charlot a été sélectionné pour participer à l'ArtistMeeting au Grand Casino de Knokke. Et en 2024, elle reçoit le premier prix à l'EuropArtFair 2024 à la Westergasfabriek d'Amsterdam.
'Being in a state of flow, transcends a feeling beyond time and space, every streak of color or kindled shape arise out of an intrinsic desire to draw and paint. Inspired by nature and meditation the paintings of Charlot emerge responsively through different phases, exploring ‘worlds’ in which chaos and harmony meet and must agree somehow. Therefore, this intuitive organic process has to playfully alternate between contingency and control, roughness and refinement and free-form gestures versus precise detailing.'
