- Sobre la obra de arteThe Dutch painter and sculptor Hans Bayens (1924-2003) was known for his loose, impressionist way of depicting his subjects. When one looks at his work one can understand that Bayens was a great admirer of the famous Belgian sculptor and painter Rik Wouters. This lovely bronze sculpture of Bayens is called "Hommage to Rik Wouters".
- Sobre el artistaHans Bayens fue un escultor, diseñador de libros y pintor holandés. Nació en Bélgica, pero era hijo de dos padres holandeses. Después de su escuela en Amsterdam, estudió en el Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten (Amberes) entre 1946 y 1949. Fue alumno de Isodore Opsomer. Después de haber trabajado en París, se trasladó en 1952 a Amsterdam. Bayens pintado en estilo impresionista. Hizo pinturas de Willem Drees, Wim Kan y Maurits van Loon y otros. Como escultor realizó bronces de autores holandeses como Mutatuli y Theo Thijssen. Se le considera miembro del Onafhankelijk Realisme (realismo independiente).
