Pieter Meiners (1857, Oosterbeek – 1903, Lage-Vuursche, Baarn) was a Dutch aquarellist, painter, draughtsman and etcher. He was taught to paint by his father Claas Hendrik Meiners, and he was apprenticed to Barend Leonardus Hendriks in the period 1872-1878. From 1878 to 1883, he studied under August Allebé at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (State Academy of Fine Arts), Amsterdam, and along with Willem Witsen at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten (Royal Academy of Fine Arts), Antwerp (1881-1882). Meiners was active in Arnhem and Oosterbeek, Amsterdam (1878-1882), Antwerp, Doesburg (1886-1895), and in Lage-Vuursche (1895-1903) at the country estate Ewijckshoeve owned by the family Witsen. Meiners painted winter, river, and polder landscapes, cityscapes, portraits, figures, still lifes and animals. Some of his works are in the collections of Museum Veluwezoom in Doorwerth.
