Eka Louise Thoden van Velzen was a Dutch painter and sculptor. She was the daughter of doctor Petrus Thoden van Velzen. She was educated at Ateliers ‘ 63 in Haarlem, where she was the pupil of Mari Andriessen, Nic Jonk and Hans Verhulst. First, she just painted, but eventually she became a sculptor as well. She signed with the name Eka.
