• About the artwork
  Bronze Grand Tour sculpture on a yellow Siena marble base. The satyr who is playing cymbals and, with his right foot, a kroupezion.
  
  This satyr was made after a Roman copy - now in the Louvre - of a Greek original from the 2nd century BC. After the excavation of the Roman statue in 1630, the sculpture was radically restored: parts of the arms and legs and the cymbals and tree trunk were supplemented.
