Een vogeltje in de winter op een tak die uit de sneeuw steekt.
In het gebeeldhouwde marmeren voetje zijn de pootafdrukjes van het vogeltje te zien.

André Vincent Becquerel was born at St. Andre-Farivilliers (Oise) in France. He studied under Hector Lemaire and Prosper Lecourtier. He specialised in animal sculpture; showing a marked preference for predator, feline and ornithological subjects, which he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1914 to 1922. He became a lifetime member of this Salon. He died in Paris in 1981.
