  • About the artist
François Brochet was a French sculptor, painter and printmaker born on January 3, 1925. His father was a painter and a playwright, who had a great influence on his artistic career. Brochet was known to use photography and woodcut as an artistic response to the theatre world and illustrations and engravings. In 1983 Brochet opened his summerhouse in Vézelay, where he produced many drawings and paintings. After Brochet himself passed away in 2001, this exact summerhouse became a gallery for his paintings, sculptures and engravings.
