Copper engraving by Jeremias Wolff after a design by Friedrich Bernhard Werner published by Johann Friederich Probst around 1760, hand coloured at a later date.

About the Artist

Jeremias Wolff was born in Augsburg and baptized on the first of October in 1663.
He was an illustrator, a printmaker, publisher, designer, instrument maker and even a clock maker.
His son-in-law Johann Balthasar took over his publishing business after his death.
He worked in Augsburg from 1678 until 1724.
His pupil was Martin Engelbrecht.
Jeremias Wolff died on the 28th of May 1724 in Augsburg.
